- At the time of closure of Middleton Fire Station, Blackley had been operational for over 5 years and was actually a sub station of Manchester Fire Brigade. The closure of Middleton was not related to Blackley whatsoever. In essence Middleton and Heywood Stations we’re both Lancashire County Fire Brigade Stations. They both closed and combined to a 2 pump Station on Middleton Road, Heywood in 1966 |
