- suspect the garage on Pool Road was the wartime fire station that was commandeered by the government and became F Division HQ, North Wales sub division 22 in No.8 Wales Region? After the war the proprietor requested his property back forcing the newly created Denbighshire & Montgomeryshire joint fire service to seek premises elsewhere in the town and then the Mid Wales Motors bus garage on New Road was purchased and then became ‘C’ Division HQ.
